Policies

This page covers all policies related to TrainerKelly's Network, including artwork usage, licensing, and collaborating.

Company Policy

No product or service should be created by TrainerKelly's Network for the sole purpose of making money. There ALWAYS has to be another reason behind it!

Artwork Usage Policy

1.) All artwork may be used for personal use.

- 1.a.) Personal use is defined as: non-commercial (i.e. you do NOT make money off of it), no mass production (you produce less than 50), and you are only using it for yourself, a family member, or a friend. Minor editing to suit needs is allowed. (For instance, needing to add text for an image printed out for the front of a binder)

2.) All artwork may be used as references.

- 2.a.) Artwork used for references may be used as: a pose reference; a style reference; or a character reference.

- 2.b.) The closer the image is to the original illustration being used, please provide a credit to TrainerKelly. For instance, you could write "Referenced an illustration by TrainerKelly at https://www.trainerkelly.net."

3.) You may NOT use the images for commercial purposes or non-commercial purposes on a large scale without explicit permission. To ask for permission, please e-mail inquiry@trainerkelly.net with the subject line of "Licensing." Thank you.

4.) If you are a person writing an article about TrainerKelly's Network and must use images, you may use up to 5 images.

5.) You may NOT edit images (minus for personal use) without permission. Send an e-mail to inquiry@trainerkelly.net with the subject line of "Editing Permission".

Story Usage Policy

Stories include, but are not limited to: Short stories, comics, and novels.

1.) All stories may be used for personal use.

- 1.a.) Personal use is defined as: non-commercial (i.e. you do NOT make money off of it), no mass production (you produce less than 50), and you are only using it for yourself, a family member, or a friend.

- 1.b.) You are welcome to print out personal copies of the stories to keep on you, if you feel inclined. You may also quote lines and small blocks of text.

- 1.c.) You are allowed to take a general idea, but not the detailed ones. (Example: Writing a story about a vampire enthusiast who turns into a vampire is a generic idea. Writing a story about a female vampire enthusiastic who loves apples & botany and gets turned into a vampire and lives with a respected scientist in the vampire society and lacks patience with him is not.)

2.) You may NOT use the images for commercial purposes or non-commercial purposes on a large scale without explicit permission. To ask for permission, please e-mail inquiry@trainerkelly.net with the subject line of "Licensing." Thank you.

3.) If you are a person writing an article about TrainerKelly's Network and must quote the stories, you may quote a small amount of text and lines (less than 1% of the story).

Fan Works Policy

1.) Fan works, including fan art and fan fiction, are allowed and encouraged!

- 1.a.) Please provide a credit to TrainerKelly/Kelly Mulry, such as "Characters are owned by Kelly Mulry a.k.a. TrainerKelly. You can read their works at https://www.trainerkelly.net"

- 1.b.) If inclined, feel free to send fan works to TrainerKelly at inquiry@trainerkelly.net with the subject line of "Fan Work" or something along that line.

2.) You may NOT sell fan works!

- 2.a.) This includes, but not limited to — fan art of characters by Kelly Mulry, fan comics of characters by Kelly Mulry, unofficial merchandise of characters by Kelly Mulry, custom cards purchased from a place such as Etsy featuring characters by Kelly Mulry.

- 2.b.) This policy is currently in place because the Kelly Mulry stories are currently not well known. Once popularity is clear, this policy WILL CHANGE! If you would like it to change, then help spread the word about TrainerKelly's Network!

- 2.c.) Commissioning artwork of Kelly Mulry's characters from someone is an exception. If you are commissioning someone, you are paying them for their time, skills, and sometimes supplies. This is different than making prints and selling them places.
